See and manage how payroll handles PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, TDS, Gratuity, and Labour Welfare Fund - all in one place.
Statutory Compliance shows how your organization’s payroll handles each statutory deduction and contribution. Each of the six statutory modules can be switched on or off for your organization, and you can review its current rates, limits, and rules at any time. Once a module is on, PrimeHR applies it automatically during payroll.
How to Access Statutory Compliance
Log in to the Admin Panel.
Go to Settings → Organization Settings → Statutory Compliance.
What’s on this page
The page has six tabs, one for each statutory module:
PF - Provident Fund, the retirement savings contributions made by both employee and employer
ESIC - Employee State Insurance, health and social security contributions for eligible employees
PT - Professional Tax, a state-level tax deducted from salaries, using each state’s slabs
TDS - Tax Deducted at Source, the income tax deducted from salaries, plus tax for contract workers
Gratuity - the lump-sum benefit paid to eligible employees when they leave, based on their length of service
LWF - Labour Welfare Fund, a state-level contribution towards employee welfare
Each tab starts with a short description of the module, an Enable toggle at the top right, and cards showing the current rates, limits, and rules.
Most values are shown for review only, so the page is marked Read only. Where a section has an Edit Settings button or a Save Changes bar, you can make changes.
How to Turn a Module On or Off
The steps are the same for every module:
Open the tab for the module: PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, Gratuity, or LWF.
Use the Enable toggle at the top right of the settings card, such as Enable PF.
Check the status badge beside the toggle - a green Enabled badge means the module is on, and a grey Disabled badge means it’s off.
When the “You have unsaved changes” bar appears at the bottom of the page, click Save Changes to apply, or Discard Changes to cancel.
Toggle Names
PF - Enable PF
ESIC - Enable ESIC
PT - Enable PT
TDS - Enable TDS, and Enable Contract TDS for contract workers

Before turning any module off, check the legal requirements for your organization and the states you operate in with your compliance advisor.
