Set how employee and employer Provident Fund contributions are calculated, and add your PF registration details.
The PF tab controls how Provident Fund (PF) contributions are calculated for your employees. PF is a retirement savings scheme where both the employee and the employer contribute a share of the employee’s salary each month. Once set up, PrimeHR calculates these contributions automatically during payroll.
How to Access PF Settings
Log in to the Admin Panel.
Go to Settings → Organization Settings → Statutory Compliance.
Open the PF tab.
To turn PF on or off, use the Enable PF toggle at the top right. To change any value, click Edit Settings next to it.
Contribution Rates
The values below are examples - check the rates shown in your account.
Employee Contribution (e.g., 12%) - the share deducted from the employee’s salary
Employer Contribution (e.g., 12%) - the company’s contribution
EPS Contribution (e.g., 8.33%) - the part of the employer’s contribution that goes to the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), with the rest going to the employee’s PF account
Admin Charges (e.g., 0.5%) - administrative fees paid to EPFO
Configuration
Calculation Method (e.g., Ceiling ₹15,000) - how the PF amount is calculated. With the ceiling method, PF is calculated on a maximum of ₹15,000, even if the employee’s PF wage is higher.
Employer Contribution Mode (e.g., Salary Deducted) - how the employer’s PF contribution is handled
Employee Override (e.g., Allowed) - lets employees change their own PF calculation method
Voluntary PF (e.g., Allowed) - lets employees contribute more than the standard amount to their PF
Voluntary % Limit (e.g., 0%) - the maximum extra contribution an employee can make
For example, with the ceiling method, an employee whose PF wage is ₹25,000 has a 12% employee contribution of ₹1,800 (12% of ₹15,000), not ₹3,000.
Organization Details
Establishment Code - the code provided by EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation)
PF Number - your company’s PF registration number
Both show “Not set” until you enter them, so add them when you set up PF.
