Income

Overview

Track every payment your organization receives — client payments, sales receipts, and more - in one place.

The Income module gives you a centralized, searchable record of everything your organization has received - so finance and accounting teams can track incoming amounts without digging through separate systems.

What you can do

  • View all income in one place

  • Search and filter by account, date, or status

  • Map income to the correct ledger

  • Record payment account and method

  • Add adjustments (penalties, interest, corrections)

  • Import records via CSV, or export existing ones

  • Add income records manually

Dashboard

When you open Finance → Income, you'll see:

  • Total Income - the total amount received, recorded in the system

  • Total Records - the total number of income records

How to export income records

  1. Go to Finance → Income.

  2. Apply filters, if needed.

  3. Click Export CSV.

  4. The records download as a CSV file, ready to open in Excel or Google Sheets.

How to import income records

  1. Go to Finance → Income.

  2. Click Import.

  3. Select your CSV file.

  4. Upload it in the required format.

  5. Review the imported data.

  6. Complete the import.

Once imported, records appear in the Income list and can be managed alongside manually created ones.

Note: Make sure your CSV file matches the required format before importing.

How to add a record

  1. Select the transaction type - choose Income. (Expense and Transfer are also available here, for the respective transaction types.)

  2. Enter a title for the income - e.g., "Client Payment," "Service Income," "Sales Receipt," "Consulting Income."

  3. Select the customer/payer from your list, or enter their name manually if they're not registered. Linking to a registered party keeps your records organized by who paid you.

  4. Enter the amount (₹) and date the income was received.

  5. Add an adjustment, if needed - for a penalty, interest, correction, or credit, with the amount and reason.

  6. Select the account and payment method:

    • Received In (Account) - the bank/financial account the income went into

    • Payment Method - how it was received

  7. Select the ledger - this classifies the income correctly for accounting and reporting.

  8. Add a description, if useful - e.g., a payment or invoice reference, customer details, or the purpose of the payment.

  9. Click Save Record - the income now appears in your Income list, ready to search, filter, and manage.
